Manager, Product Marketing

 

Location: Boston, MA

Lux Research is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, scientifically-oriented Product Marketing professional to join our Product Strategy team.  You will be part of the team identifying and driving go-to-market success initiatives enabling the organization to scale.  In this role, you will report to the VP, Marketing & Product Strategy and will work closely with colleagues across the organization, including senior leadership.  You will help imagine the evolution of our offerings, including features, benefits, user experience, positioning, and marketing and sales execution, while driving current product management initiatives from identification through execution for critical business needs.  If you enjoy a start-up type culture with the stability of an established organization and possess an innate drive to be an internal change agent, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze customer needs, market trends, and competitors to help drive business cases for investment in new product areas and to support overall product strategy
  • Work with VP, Product Strategy to establish vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next evolution of offerings
  • Develop go-to-market plans and lead sales enablement initiatives such as presentations, success stories, collateral, and other sales tools
  • Align the organization around and bring professional polish to current business practices
  • Identify and close critical gaps
  • Clearly articulate value proposition, differentiation, and positioning to clients
  • Prioritize and rationalize opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and track meaningful, actionable KPIs
  • Facilitate client and internal feedback mechanisms
  • Work closely across the organization with cross-functional groups including Research, Sales, Account Management, Operations, and Finance, in addition to your Marketing & Product team members

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of total work experience (depending on relevance and quality of experience), including at least 1-2 years of core product development/strategy and/or marketing.  Strategy consulting and/or corporate marketing experience are encouraged but not required
  • Well-rounded set of experiences including B2B marketing, customer engagement, change management, data analysis, and industrial industries (e.g. oil and gas, chemicals and materials, CPG)
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, as evidenced by prior work product, including the ability to translate complex technical and scientific content into clear, concise, B2B marketing materials
  • Natural self-starter and independent, critical thinker who utilizes data and subject matter experts internally and externally to arrive at sound business decisions
  • Innate ability to act as an internal company leader and facilitator who values both contributing to and leading projects driving key business initiatives
  • Outcomes-oriented professional who can handle multiple competing work streams
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred depending on relevant experience
  • Fascination with innovation in emerging technologies and how to use them encouraged  

Other Qualifying Information:

  • This position is based in our Boston, MA office.  We are seeking local candidates immediately available for full-time work in our Boston office.  There is no relocation assistance available for this role.
