Account Manager

Overview

Lux Research, Inc. is looking for an Account Manager who will be responsible for selling research products and consulting services to Fortune 2000 companies. In this role, you will work with innovation leaders, C-level executives (business and technology leaders) in the Energy, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Industrials & CPG industries. This is an individual contributor position with no direct-reports or management responsibilities.  

Responsibilities 

  • Target and sell to senior management (Director, VP, C-level) in R&D; Sustainability, Business Development; Corporate Venturing; and/or Strategy and M&A 
  • Identify our client’s strategic initiatives and demonstrate Lux Research’s value  
  • Develop client strategies that position Lux Research as a strategic resource
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external audiences   
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline of adequate size to ensure quarterly quota achievement
  • Develop a complete understanding of the full suite of Lux Research intelligence and consulting offerings 
  • Develop a territory plan to prioritize time investment across prospects growing and managing an active pipeline of new use cases 
  • Collaborate with a virtual team – Business Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers, Research Associates, Research Analysts and Consultants
  • Maintain pipeline information in the Lux CRM system (Salesforce)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology/software sales experience preferred
  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • Proven track record of finding new business opportunities in their current book of business managing contracts $100K+  
  • Experience in intangible sales (professional or information services) 
  • Solid multi-year contracts in Enterprise space
  • Proven results in exceeding quota
  • True “Hunter-style” sales characteristics, motivated by seeking new use cases in their book of business
  • Ability to articulate trends, challenges, and issues to C-level executives 
  • Consultative selling style a must; formal training in Miller-Heiman Complex Sales, or similar level sales training a plus Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in solutions selling; new business development, achieving target and managing personal sales strategies
  • Ability to qualify opportunities to uncover client needs
  • Experience managing and cultivating a sales pipeline, including multiple opportunities at various stages
  • Ability to identify and address the clients/prospects needs and/or connect the client/prospect with the appropriate resources to meet their needs
  • Ability to demonstrate a moderately technical product to prospects
  • Experience selling to customers in person and virtually 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven track record of managing and retaining book of business in the Enterprise space
  • Driven by activity and results
