Account Manager -Bilingual Japanese/English - Tokyo Japan

Lux Research is seeking qualified Account Managers who are comfortable in a sales hybrid role, servicing current clients  in Chemical & Material; Industrial; Automotive, Oil & Gas, Utilities; CPG/FMC and Electronics companies and focusing on growth targets through upsell and cross sell opportunities. Account Managers ensure service delivery to existing Lux Research clients and conduct both renewal and new business sales interactions with senior-level executives within specific institutional accounts. Account Managers conduct consistent and meaningful live interactions with all contacts and are evaluated against overall institutional contract value growth (hunting within your install base) and customer satisfaction/advocacy (client retention).

Traveling (20% to 30% of the time) is required.

The working language at Lux Research is English, so bilingual fluency in Japanese/English is required.


  • Build relationships with clients/prospects through demonstration of in-depth client knowledge, understanding of specific client needs/priorities and application of surface-level research solutions. Understanding of Lux Research client offerings, ensuring the appropriate product is provided to meet the client need.
  • Identify and sell to additional buying centers within client base to gain wallet share using referral and prospecting techniques.
  • Educate client members/prospects on the benefits of Lux Research products and services through compelling articulation of our business model and value proposition
  • Create customized account plans for each institution, outlining service delivery and CV growth strategies for existing and potential clients within the institution.
  • Collaborate with Product Specialist/Analyst to ensure targeted and substantive content solution delivery.
  • Utilize existing client relationships to navigate within the institution and generate/contact new business leads.
  • Evaluate prospects' business needs and present appropriate mix of Lux Research products
  • Determine appropriate tactics to drive urgency in sales cycle, including trial meetings/ teleconferences, guest website access, etc.
  • Position is located in the Tokyo office, local candidates only.  Must be authorized to work in Japan without sponsorship.

JPY 10M - 14M OTE (basic salary + commission)
