Client Director (New Logo Acquisition)

Lux Research is seeking a qualified Client Director to help us secure new business relationships and drive new logo acquisition. This role is for a Hunter, Sales Representatives who will actively prospect (research potential new opportunity leads; cold call; etc.) to uncover target clients and position Lux Research as a trusted advisor that can help solve complex technology business issues. We are seeking a sales professional to assist us in further developing commercial relationships with Chemical & Material; Industrial; Automotive, Oil & Gas, Utilities; CPG/FMC and Electronics companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The best qualified candidate will be a strategic thinking senior sales professional with international experience and is comfortable being responsible for new business generation (carrying an assigned quota; generating and closing new sales) of our research and consulting services to Billion+ EUR companies Europe. This role is an individual contributor position reporting to the Managing Director EMEA. Extensive traveling (30 % of the time) is required. The working language at Lux Research is English.


  • Target and sell to senior management (Director, (S)VP, C-level) in R&D; New Business Development; Corporate Venturing; Strategy & M&A and Strategic Marketing
  • Maintain an appropriate and accurate sales pipeline of approximately four times quarterly quota, with accurate pipeline information in Lux’s CRM system (salesforce).
  • Develop a complete understanding of Lux’s full array of technology scouting and market intelligence research and consulting offerings.
  • Understand the changing business and technology issues with regards to corporate innovation, and needs & wants of our target clients in Europe.
  • Develop client strategies that positions Lux as a strategic resource.
  • Communicate professionally to both internal and external audiences.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years demonstrated sales success, selling and servicing research & consulting services to Billion+ EUR clients.
  • Proven experience in new-business development, achieving quota and managing personal sales strategies in Europe.
  • Ability to communicate with and convince C-level executives
  • Deep affinity and intellectual curiosity with the role of emerging technologies and start-ups for corporate innovation in all major emerging technology domains of today
  • Strategic and fast thinker who is able to understand value and supply chains in large research driven corporations and who can quickly figure out how this relates to the value Lux proposition
  • Strategic thinker with a high cognitive 'clock speed’ able to think creatively and analytically to identify where Lux's services have a strong fit.
  • Successfully having worked at a start-up and a Fortune 500 company is a major plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in another European language – notably German or French – is highly desirable. Ability to speak articulately and with situational fluency.
