Account Manager - Tokyo, Japan

Lux Research is an organization focused on advising executives at major global corporations in emerging technologies. Our team is comprised of high-energy, positive and smart people driven to engage with senior executives on some of the most important issues they face. We are seeking Account Manager candidates who are passionate and are successful at managing client relationships to grow personal and company revenues.

As an Account Manager at Lux Research, you will be developing long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, to grow our business with these Fortune 2000 companies. You will work with C-level executives (business and technology leaders) in the Chemicals& Materials; Industrial; Energy & Utility; Automotive, Life Sciences and Electronics industries. You will have a net retention quota that is focused on renewing and growing your book of business.

This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports/management responsibilities

  • Identify our client’s business and technology issues and demonstrate Lux Research’s value.  Develop client strategies that position Lux Research as a strategic resource.
  • Build relationships, uncover challenges and provide value to senior management (Director, VP, C-level) in R&D; Business Development; Corporate Venturing; and/or Strategy and M&A.
  • Maintain an appropriate and accurate upsell sales pipeline of adequate size to ensure quarterly net retention achievement. Maintain pipeline information in the Lux CRM system (SalesForce).
  • Develop a complete understanding of the full suite of Lux Research intelligence and consulting offerings.
  • Communicate to, and build relationships professionally with, both internal and external audiences. 


  • 3+ years of successful Enterprise Account Management experience with a proven track record of net retention. You have worked with large enterprises before (500M+ revenue) and have managed contracts worth 100K+ annually.
  • Driven by quality, process, and results; wants individual performance tied to compensation rewards.
  • Experience in Enterprise SaaS. Information or professional services sales.
  • Proven experience in solution selling; enterprise account management, achieving target and managing personal sales strategies.
  • Ability to uncover challenges and articulate value to C-level executives.
  • Consultative selling style a must; formal training in Miller-Heiman Complex Sales, or similar level sales training a definite plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • BA/BS required.
  • A good sense of humor is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time when the company resumes travel.
