Director - Product Design - United States

We are seeking a passionate and experienced design leader to establish and lead the product design function at Lux Research Inc.. As the Director, Product Design you will establish Lux’s creative vision and strategy. You will be a strategic partner to the product management function, applying design-led thinking to influence the product roadmap. You will work closely with the Research team to create elegant visual concepts for complex ideas, processes, or evaluative methodologies that support our models and frameworks. You are comfortable addressing an executive team, but still get excited to create individual designs (systems design, interaction design, and visual design). As a collaborative thought partner, you will work cross-functionally to deliver an exceptional user experience across our digital products. You understand the product development process and value the importance of alignment between Product, Design, and Development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Establish the vision for the overall product design and user experience across Lux’s digital products
• Define a scalable design process that fits into the broader product lifecycle and enables rapid iteration
• Establish and lead the product design function through best-practices, attention to detail, and sometimes unconventional thinking to ensure it continually delivers customer value
• Participate in customer interviews to help uncover customer needs
• Help establish our user personas and let their needs guide you to the best solutions
• Help turn broad, conceptual ideas into beautiful digital products
• Produce concept sketches, wireframes, and mockups
• Participate in concept validation testing, lead usability testing, and establish other user research methods
• Lead design-focused workshops, reviews, and participate in sprint retrospectives to ensure the product being built meets expectations
• Partner with your product and technology counterparts to shape a data-informed vision for our digital products
• Define and implement style guidance for a variety of research deliverable templates including but not limited to report templates, PowerPoint templates, event presentations, etc.
• Support daily production of research deliverables such as charts, infographics, etc.
• Oversee and evolve Lux’s style guidance as our offerings grow
